My Crossfit journey began in Jess’s garage in 2012. I had been doing a bootcamp three times a week with a personal trainer so I thought I was fairly fit. Wrong. I went with a friend to try it out and found it really hard but I wanted more. I started out going once a week, then increased to three times a week and soon dropped the bootcamp to focus on Crossfit. It kicked my butt and I was having fun learning new movements. Crossfit never gets boring, its a different workout each day. Who would have thought I would be doing handstand push ups in my 40’s?
I decided to become a trainer because I want to help others achieve their health and fitness goals. Being the mother of two girls, I love that Crossfit focuses on what your body can do, not looking a certain way. Feeling strong is empowering, and I want to share that feeling with others. I am proud to be a part of the community at Crossfit Yards; it is very supportive and welcoming.
